Hard working conditions require reliable solutions. The Dräger X-plore® 8000 combines simple handling with intelligent electronics for maximum safety allowing your employees to concentrate on immediate tasks.
The Dräger X-plore 8000 features heavy duty design with rubber protectors and high ingress protection (IP65) against dust and water jets from any direction. Two battery versions incorporating the latest Li-ion battery technology provide power for at least 4 h or 8 h, respectively. The air inlets are protected from frontal moving debris, ensuring that sparks or water do not come into direct contact with the filter.
In work areas requiring explosion protection, the special Dräger X-plore 8700 model provides optimal support. It is ex-approved and can be used in ex-zones 1, 2, 21 and 22.

What is an “air-purifying respirator”?

An air-purifying respirator purifies the ambient air with a filter, cartridge or canister but does not provide air from an independent air supply. APRs can be categorised into two main groups:

Filtered Air Respirators (Non-Powered) – use the person wearing the respirator’s breathing to pull air through the filter. Easy to use, with minimal maintenance requirements and inexpensive when there is a moderate level of contamination.
Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPRs) are respirators powered by a battery to actively push filtered air into the facepiece or hood and thus lessen the breathing resistance and discomfort during long shifts when working in hot, physically demanding conditions.

The selection of the appropriate type will depend on what the contaminants are, length of exposure, presence of oxygen in the work area, and desired comfort for extended wear periods.
